Clay figurine is 5,000 years old

ARCHAEOLOGISTS in Orkney have discovered another Stone Age artefact - a tiny figurine, which measures just 30mm in height.

The discovery of the object, estimated to be around 5,000 years old, is the third human figure to be found on the Scottish isles in the last three years.

Experts believe it may have been a religious object, but could have been a toy or house decoration.

The miniature clay figure consists of just a head and body.
