Campaign chairman Mick Napier said: "The brave people of Egypt are putting their lives on the line in their attempt to overthrow their US-backed dictator. Our job is to make sure that David Cameron is aware that he will have a revolution on his own hands if he backs Mubarak in any way."

The demonstration was set to start at 2pm at the Mound Precinct, off Princes Street.

The UK Stop the War Coalition is holding a simultaneous demonstration in London. No road closures are scheduled for the Edinburgh demonstration.
