City man facing trial over armed robbery

A Man from Edinburgh is to face a trial in connection with an armed robbery at an antiques shop in the Borders.

David Scott, 27, of Gracemount Drive, is charged with assaulting three people during a masked hold-up at Chapel Antiques in Eyemouth, Berwickshire, on July 22, 2010.

He is accused of along with others unknown brandishing a hammer, smashing a glass door and robbing the shop occupants of a quantity of jewellery.

Scott faces another three charges of flagging down motorists in nearby Church Street and attempting to rob them of their cars.

He pleaded not guilty to all four charges when he appeared from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court and the trial was fixed for the sitting starting October 8 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
