City mall bucks shopping trend

THE number of visitors to Aberdeen's £275 million Union Square shopping mall has risen by more than a fifth in its second year in operation - despite a downward trend in the retail sector.

The centre, near the bus and rail stations, has attracted more than 20 million customers since it opened in October 2009.
