City fights off flu bug

PEOPLE in Edinburgh are less likely to succumb to flu this winter than those in most other Scottish cities, a study has found.

Health Protection Scotland said that residents in places like Glasgow and Inverness would be more at risk because they had less resistance to swine flu when it hit last year.

In contrast, people in the Capital resisted that wave better, health chiefs said, meaning they would be better placed to fend off any new waves of influenza.
