City decision process slated

CITY leaders have been accused of "undermining" local decision-making.

A motion passed at the Inverleith Neighbourhood Partnership said members were disappointed that recommendations its funding panel had made did not make it into the council papers for the budget-setting meeting.

The new motion, passed after being lodged by Lesley Hinds, calls on the partnership's convener, Tim McKay, to write to council leader Jenny Dawe expressing disappointment about decisions made regarding former Fairer Scotland funding and concern about "the undermining of the local decision-making process being taken at neighbourhood level."

The partnership is also calling for council chief executive Sue Bruce to give a "clear strategic direction" for the former Fairer Scotland funding.
