City coining it in for the Royal Mail

The city of Edinburgh is to be celebrated in a limited edition coin by Royal Mail.

The coin and cover, issued on St Andrew’s Day, is the third in a series celebrating the capital cities of Belfast, London, Cardiff and Edinburgh. Lord Provost George Grubb launched the cover at Edinburgh Castle. Ian McKay, director of Scottish Affairs at Royal Mail Group, said: “We are delighted to be paying tribute to the city by launching this beautiful limited-edition commemorative coin cover.”
