City clubbers face court for street attack on man

TWO men who carried out an unprovoked attack on a homeless man after leaving an Edinburgh nightspot were today ordered to pay compensation to their victim and carry out community service.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard Derek Connelly, 30, David Hill, 31, and Michael Pritchard, 20, repeatedly punched Bravo Bromfield who had been sitting on the street.

Yesterday Sheriff James Scott ordered Hill and Pritchard to carry out 200 hours of community service and pay Mr Bravo 150 in compensation each.

Sentence was deferred on Connelly for a drug treatment and testing order assessment.

Fiscal depute Ruth Ross-Davies previously told the court the attack happened in the Cowgate on 31 July after the three men left The Three Sisters pub.

The court heard Mr Bromfield suffered bruising to his head and body but declined medical attention.
