City band gets pulses racing

THE dance section of Scotland’s largest youth Samba band has been honoured by London 2012 chiefs for its “innovative” work inspired by this year’s Olympics.

Move to the Pulse, a branch of the Leith-based Pulse of the Place Samba band, was awarded the Inspire mark for encouraging young people to “fulfil their potential”.

Seb Coe, chair of the London Organising Committee said: “I am proud that we are delivering our vision to use the power of the games to boost participation in music and dance.”
