Church brings international flavour to city

MORE than 150 people attended an international event at a quirky city church as it attempts to boost its congregation.

Gospel choirs, rap artists and poets reciting Robert Burns all performed at the spectacle at the Edinburgh Life Church in the city centre.

Pastor Adrian Galley said passers-by even popped in to join in the celebration to mark a year of progress at one of the Capital's fastest-growing churches.

He said: "It's great when people from across the world can join together and enjoy themselves.

"It was simply a great day."

In the past four years the West Richmond Street church, formerly the Edinburgh Apostolic Church, has seen its membership double, and Mr Galley cites the lively ceremonies and other activities the church performs as a main reason behind the rise.
