Christmas rush is on

John Lewis has already sold out of some brands of Christmas cards, it has revealed.

The store in the St James Centre officially opened its Christmas Shop on October 1, and admitted there had been a huge demand for cards, tinsel and Christmas trees - despite more than 80 shopping days remaining to Christmas..

Emily Moyes, a representative for John Lewis, said: "Demand is very high and many cards have sold out already, with Christmas trees being especially popular."
