Christmas joy for the taxman online

More than 3,000 people broke off their Christmas celebrations to file their tax returns, new figures have revealed.

HM Revenue & Customs said 845 people logged on to file on Christmas Day, with 2,408 submitting self-assessment forms on Boxing Day.
