Christmas is a gift for crooks

POLICE are holding a crime seminar today to advise businesses on how to spot thieves over the Christmas period.

Officers joined forces with city centre business group Essential Edinburgh ahead of the gathering at the George Hotel.

Chief Inspector Gavin Phillip said: “We will provide advice and information on building security, alarms and CCTV monitoring, and how businesses can carry out effective security checks.”
