Christmas Day fire claims the life of 41-year-old man in Tarbert
A 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services received reports of a fire at around 5.50am on Christmas morning.
Police Scotland is yet to release the name of the individual who died but a spokesperson said: "We received a report of a fire at a property on Garval Road in Tarbert around 5.50am on Friday, December 25.
"A 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured.
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
This tragedy comes just two years after a fishing boat went down near Tarbert killing two locals.
A trawler, the Nancy Glen, capsized after a net became filled with mud as it tried to turn in Loch Fyne.
Reports said that previous modifications to the vessel reduced its stability which meant it wasn’t able to perform the manoeuvre.
Duncan MacDougall and Przemek Krawcyk died in the tragedy in January, 2018.
