Choir on song for global gig

A CHOIR of 87 women from Edinburgh are travelling to Seattle to take part in an international competition.

Forth Valley Chorus will compete in the Sweet Adelines contest after winning the UK Regional Championship last year.

The barbershop-style chorus will don sequined outfits to sing their two tunes, while performing choreographed moves on stage. It is the first time in 17 years the choir has competed at this level. The performance will be streamed live at www.sweetadelineintl.org although the time difference means it will be on at 1am on October 22.

The choir is looking for new members and will hold an open night at Saughtonhall Church in Saughtonhall Drive at 7pm on November 4. See www.forthvalleychorus.org for more information.
