Chip pan fire draws crowd

FIREFIGHTERS had to extinguish a fire which started in a pan of oil in a chip shop.

Fire crews were called to Jaz's Fish Bar in Dalkeith around 6.50pm yesterday after the blaze broke out.

Fire engines attended the incident and four firefighters in breathing gear used foam to bring the fire under control.

Crews at the scene requested an engineer to check for possible leaks, and police back-up to deal with a crowd of people which had gathered to watch the incident unfold.
