China: Jail term for son of senior police officer

The son of a senior police official in northern China was sentenced to six years in prison yesterday after a fatal hit-and-run accident.

Li Qiming, 23, hit two students, killing one. When a crowd tried to apprehend him Li shouted: "Go ahead, sue me. My father is Li Gang!"
