Children and infants evacuated after Armadale fire

Eight people including children and infants had to be rescued after a fire on Saturday night in Armadale, West Lothian.

Two fire crews from Bathgate and Whitburn were called to the property at 4 Lower Bathville at around 10.10pm after a common stairway caught fire.

Firefighters using a hose reel and two breathing apparatus battled the flames and evacuated the victims, who required oxygen at the scene.

However, there are not believed to have been any significant injuries.
