Child porn suspect 'had 2m images'

Bosnian police say they seized some two million child pornography pictures and 7,000 video clips in the arrest of an alleged member of an international online child pornography ring.

Officers said yesterday that the unidentified 46-year-old suspect was arrested over the weekend following a raid on his home in the northern town of Derventa.

Police spokeswoman Mirna Soja said police also found a suitcase full of children's clothes.

Ms Soja described the suspect as an "important member" of the international paedophile community and said he was "producing and posting online child sexual abuse materials".

However, she said the man appeared not to be linked with a huge international pedophile ring centered in the Netherlands, which was revealed last week following a three-year investigation codenamed Operation Rescue.

The UK-led operation against the ring, centered on an online forum called boylover.net, uncovered 670 suspects and identified and safeguarded children in more than 30 countries.
