Child of 12 among 20 detained after disturbance

A CHILD of 12 was among 20 people arrested following a disturbance in a street, police said.

Officers were called to the scene on Gateside Road in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, following reports of a “large scale disturbance” at around 9.15pm on Monday.

Those arrested were aged between 12 and 45, police said.

Police said inquiries into the incident are under way.

They appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
