Chilcot invites veterans' views

THE IRAQ Inquiry yesterday invited British veterans of the conflict to submit their views on how the war was run.

Chairman Sir John Chilcot announced a meeting at Tidworth Garrison in Wiltshire on 14 September for UK military personnel past and present who served in Iraq between 2003 and 2009.

He wrote in an open letter to the veterans: "The purpose of this event is to gain insights from those who are in a unique position to talk about how the campaign was conducted and the impact it had upon their lives."

Those who served in Iraq can also make written submissions.
