Chemistry gets reaction

PRESENTATIONS have been given by pupils from two city schools on the role chemistry can play in the environment.

Students at Gracemount High and St George’s School for Girls spoke yesterday at Our Dynamic Earth.

They discussed their participation in the global water experiment to mark the International Year of Chemistry.

The scheme was designed to encourage pupils to explore the chemistry of water and its role in society and the environment.

Gracemount High used the water experiment during a “rapid response week”, while St George’s made a solar still.
