Chemist gets heart attack warning gear

A MACHINE which can predict the likelihood of a person suffering a heart attack has been installed in a city pharmacy.

The Cardio Pod, which puts a patient through a brief test and survey, can advise on what areas of a person's life to improve to reduce the chances of the onset of one of the country's biggest killers.

Lindsay and Gilmour chemist in Juniper Green is only the third in the city to have the machine installed. It was created by Telehealth Solutions, which is currently lobbying the Scottish Government for the machines to be rolled out across the country.

Pharmacist Robbie McGregor said: "We already offer many services, including blood pressure and cholesterol testing, but the Cardio Pod has taken this particular service a lot further."
