Check out the in-store baby advice

A BABY charity has teamed up with a city supermarket to make contact with new and expecting mothers.

The Tommy's research centre, based at the Royal Infirmary, will have experts at Asda stores across the city to offer advice and guidance on a range of issues. They will be in stores on July 29 as part of the Let's Talk Baby sessions and it is hoped they will reach women who slip through the NHS net.

Annette Briley, a midwife who works for Tommy's, said: "The first few months of pregnancy can be the most exciting and awe-inspiring times of any woman's life, but can also be the most exhausting and worrying. With this mix of emotions is also a real thirst for knowledge, and unfortunately a lot of this new information out there is unvetted, or offers conflicting advice."
