Chavez defends rebel's deportation

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has defended his decision to deport to Colombia a man accused of being a leftist rebel after some of his supporters criticised the handover.

Mr Chavez dismissed a protest over the deportation of Joaquin Perez as "ultra-leftist".
