Charity looks to get truck-y

A SCOTTISH children's charity is behind a drive to find the most-travelled lorry across the Forth Road Bridge.

Aberlour Child Care Trust is urging haulage firms or drivers who regularly cross the bridge to get in touch and help promote a fundraising event.

Aberlour's Midnight Sleepwalk will take place on September 10. At midnight, hundreds of women will set off on a five-mile walk across the bridge clad only in their pyjamas.

Proceeds from the event will go to Aberlour, which runs more than 40 children's services across Scotland including Edinburgh Outreach, which works with families in the city affected by substance abuse.

Senior fundraising executive Marie-Claire Jones said: "We know there are lots of hard-working lorry drivers out there, who travel back and forth across the bridge from Edinburgh to Fife every day.

"We would like to find out which lorries use the bridge the most so we can work together to help promote our Midnight Sleepwalk."
