Charity funds at a stroke

A SERIES of fundraising swimming events are to take place across the Lothians to generate cash for a cancer charity.

Four pools in the area have signed up to the event for Marie Curie Cancer Care, which will take place in mid-April.

The charity is urging as many people as possible to take part in the "swimathons" at Ainslie Park, Drumbrae, Gracemount and Portobello pools to raise cash for its hospice in Fairmilehead.

Fundraising manager Fiona Bushby said: "It's going to be fantastic to see everybody in our community fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care."
