Charity cashes in on cup event

The inaugural Forth One Cup charity football event has raised thousands of pounds to help needy children.

The seven-a-side contest was held at Edinburgh Academy on Saturday and saw teams of 15 and 16 year-olds competing while raising more than 5500 for Cash for Kids, which supports children with special needs, life limiting illnesses and those suffering abuse or neglect.

John Brett, Director at sponsor Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, said: "SWIP is delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile cause. Our congratulations go to Woodmill High School who won the Forth One Cup after a thrilling final against George Heriots School."
