Charges over pub shooting

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with an alleged shooting and stabbing at the city's Jock's Lodge pub.

Dean Scott, 27, faced charges of assault with intent to murder and attempted murder when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday. He was also accused of an offence under the Firearms Act 1968.

Scott, of Edinburgh, made no plea or declaration and his case was continued.

Sheriff Fiona Reith QC remanded him into custody.
