Chance to be immortalised in Bonnie Prince Charlie painting

ART lovers have the chance to be immortalised in paint as part of a mural by Scottish artist Chris Rutterford.

As part of his first solo exhibition entitled 'The Opening Hand', the artist is inviting visitors to sit for him and be painted in to the crowd in the background of his latest epic mural.

The 12 foot mural depicts Bonnie Prince Charlie and his army arriving into Edinburgh, and Mr Rutterford wants to include portraits of visitors as part of the army. Sitters will be able to watch themselves being painted into the canvas, entitled The Jacobite Stramash and included in a major work of art.

The exhibition takes place at Gallery 2, St Margaret's House, 151 London Road, Edinburgh until July 30, from 11am to 7pm daily.
