Centre shapes good relations

RESIDENTS in a city street have been invited to a special breakfast marking the opening of a revamped arts centre.

The Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop has undergone a huge overhaul in Hawthornvale, Newhaven, which now sees it dominate one side of the street.

Construction has taken just over a year, with neighbours facing parking restrictions and other obstructions. But they have now been invited to share coffee and pastries with staff on Saturday, June 16.

In a letter to residents, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop director Irene Kernan said: “We really appreciate your support and forbearance over the past year during the construction period and would like to say thank you in person.”
