Centre cheered by pub's cash

A CASH-STRAPPED community project has been given a £1,387 boost thanks to fundraising by a nearby bar.

The Morningside Glory pub held a disco and auction to raise the money for the Open Door community centre, which provides support for the elderly and people living with mental health problems.

Centre manager Sandra Dixon said the fundraising by the pub was "fabulous" when the current financial climate made money difficult to come by.
