Celtic fans given ban for 19 years

THREE Celtic fans have been banned from going to watch their team for a total of 19 years for causing chaos after a football match.

Edward Ingram, 39, Anthony Begley, 33 and Steven McGowan, 23, challenged Hearts fans to a fight after a defeat by the Edinburgh team at Celtic Park as the fans made their way back to buses to go home.

After a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court the trio were convicted of forming part of a disorderly crowd, shouting, swearing, inciting and challenging others to fight and breaching the peace on 28 October 2009.
