CCTV images issued in hunt for Aberdeen attacker

Police Scotland today issued CCTV images of a man they are seeking following a potential sexually motivated assault on a woman in Aberdeen.

The woman was assaulted in the Spring Garden area of the city in the early hours of Saturday, 31 August, by a man who was accompanied by a “petite” female.

She was attacked around 1.40am while walking between Spring Garden and Gerrard Street. The victim of the attack was left badly shaken but escaped serious injury.

A force spokeswoman said today: “Police Scotland continue to investigate the assault of a female at Spring Garden, Aberdeen which occurred in the early hours of Saturday 31 August 2013 and have released CCTV images of a male they would like to trace in connection with their enquiries into this incident.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.”

The man being sought is aged between 20 to 40, about 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build, with dark receding hair and was wearing a dark hooded top and light coloured trousers. At the time of the attack he was walking with a petite female, dressed in dark clothing.
