Castle fun is joust the job

JUNIOR jousting, archery and crossbow shooting will be on offer at the Medieval Mayhem family event at Craigmillar Castle on October 9 and 10.

Storytellers will bring medieval tales to life during the event, which runs from 11am until 3pm on both days.

Historic Scotland interpretation manager Gareth Cheeseman said: "Our Medieval Mayhem event promises great value as well as great fun."

"It also offers a perfect opportunity to explore Craigmillar's imposing tower house and enjoy the stunning views it affords over Edinburgh."
