Cash worries for lone adults

ONE in six adults living alone are overspending on their lifestyles, a new report has claimed.

The study, by Edinburgh-based protection specialists Bright Grey, claimed that the average income for adults living by themselves is 1,267 per month - some 327 or 21 per cent short of the 1,594 per month that people feel they need in order to live a comfortable life.

In Scotland, the average salary overall is 1,360.
