Cash fears for volunteers

MSPs are being urged to stand up for Scotland's voluntary sector in the face of mounting concerns about funding.

Chief executive of Edinburgh-based Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland, Mary Craig OBE, fears some voluntary organisations may fold if public sector organisations cut back on cash support to charities. She is calling on MSPs to push for a renewed commitment to the third sector.

The foundation, an independent grant-making organisation, has awarded more than 85 million to more than 12,000 charities since it was established in 1985.
