Case study: Early results put worried mother's fears to rest

PAMELA Hamilton is a self-confessed worrier and wanted to be as informed as early as possible about her pregnancy.

The mother-of-one, from Edinburgh, was given a Nuchal Translucency test and has been told her child has a very low risk of Down's syndrome.

She said: "I didn't think about the tests straight away, but at the first appointment you have certain tests explained to you.

"I like to be fully informed about how things are - I'm a bit of a worrier - and I just wanted to know about the wellbeing of my baby."

Mrs Hamilton, 31, a communications consultant, said: "You want the test results back quickly. Fortunately, it's not a long wait."
