Cartoonist attacker gets jail and ban

A DANISH court yesterday jailed a Somali man for nine years for trying to kill a cartoonist whose 2005 drawing of the Prophet Muhammad provoked Muslim outrage around the world.

The court also ordered Muhudiin Mohamed Geele to be banned from Denmark for life after serving his sentence.
