Cars smashed by vandals in garage attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after vandals struck at a mechanics garage in East Lothian.

The incident happened some time between 9pm on Thursday, July 1 and 9.30am on Friday, July 9 at the property in Mill Wynd, Haddington.

The suspects gained access to the yard where cars used for spare parts were being stored before smashing a number of windows on five vehicles.

Police are now asking for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "The damage to the cars will not result in any financial expense for the garage owner but, nevertheless, those responsible were illegally within the premises and we are eager to locate them."
