Caring builders show their feminine side

BRICKIES and builders donned pink hard-hats as part of a "Wear It Pink" fundraiser for Breast Cancer Campaign, bagging more than £1000.

Taylor Wimpey staff at Pinkhill in Corstorphine slipped into the colour to support their company's initiative to donate 25 to the cancer charity for every visitor it received at its show apartment.

The proceeds will be allocated to a Breast Cancer Campaign within University of Edinburgh.

Karen Armstrong, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, thanked the fundraisers and said: "Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer and one woman in nine will be affected by it during her lifetime in the United Kingdom.

"I'm delighted to learn that our donation has been allocated to a project within the University of Edinburgh led by Professor Ian Kunkler and Dr Williams."
