Care scheme given praise

SUPPORT provided to adults with disabilities by East Lothian Council has been praised by Care Commission inspectors.

The Adult Placement Scheme (APS) matches adults with learning and physical disabilities with carers in the community. The adults live within the carers' own homes, either for a short-term respite break or a long-term placement.

The Care Commission report concluded that excellent person-centred support was provided to both service users and their carers.
