Cardownie backs charter

THE Scottish Government's recent charter of rights for people with dementia has been backed by city council deputy leader Steve Cardownie.

The SNP leader has written a council motion congratulating the work of Alzheimer's Scotland relating to the publication of the charter.

In his motion, to be discussed at a meeting of the council's health committee next week, Cllr Cardownie said that the council "fully supports" the aims of the charter in empowering people with dementia, as well as helping to "understand and respect" the rights of people with dementia and of their carers.
