Cardinal pays Haiti respects

CARDINAL Keith O'Brien visited the collapsed cathedral in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince during his visit to mark the one-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake.

Cardinal O'Brien, who will return to Scotland on Thursday, is viewing the work being carried out by the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF), of which he is the chairman. He has been joined on the trip by SCIAF chief executive Paul Chitnis.

They have already met with survivors of the earthquake, which struck on January 12 last year and left 230,000 people dead.
