Car strikes power line during a crash in east Scotland

Police Scotland has confirmed that a car has struck a power line in Kinross near Loch Leven following a car crash earlier today.

The incident happened this morning at around 10am on B9097 near Loch Leven between the junction with the B920 and B996.

An ambulance attended and checked over the female driver of the car.

No casualties or fatalities have been reported.

The road is currently closed to allow for the power line to be made safe.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on B9097 near Loch Leven between the junction with the B920 and B996 around 10.05am on Monday, 4 January.

"The vehicle struck a power line and the road is currently closed to allow the line to be made safe.

“The ambulance service was contacted to check on the female driver and recovery has been arranged for the vehicle.”

Scottish Power and Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
