Car smashed by team mate

A FOOTBALLER smashed up a team mate's work van because he believed he was having an affair with his dead brother's girlfriend, a court has been told.

Frazer Henderson, 23, and his 20-year-old brother Euan armed themselves with a snow shovel and tyre socket before smashing the windscreen of Craig Edgar's vehicle which was in the car park of East of Scotland League side Peebles Rovers.

Peebles Sheriff Court was told that the attack followed the suicide of the Hendersons' older brother and a supposed affair between Edgar and his girlfriend.

Sheriff Kevin Drummond deferred sentence for background reports until May 25.
