Car severely damaged in liquid attack

A mystery liquid was poured over the Landrover Freelander on Friday, 21 May, corroding much of the bodywork and causing "extensive damage".

Police are appealing for information following the attack on the vehicle, which was parked in Loanhead overnight.

The car was parked Harness Court between 9am on Friday, 21 May and noon the following day. The full value of the damage caused has not been confirmed but it is expected to run into thousands of pounds.

A police spokesperson said: "This mindless act of vandalism has caused significant distress to the owner of the vehicle.

"Police are appealing for any information from the public or residents to the area who may have seen or heard anything which aroused suspicion."
