POLICE across Scotland are to crack down on drivers who put their lives at risk by failing to wear a seatbelt and those who ignore speed limits.

Tomorrow, officers will take part in a day of action co-ordinated by the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland. Chief Superintendent Charlie Common, from Lothian and Borders Police, ACPOS lead officer on casualty reduction said: "Speaking on behalf of ACPOS I promote national campaigns and express my disappointment at the number of people who continue to take unacceptable risks and endanger the lives of road users."
