Car passenger 'attacks driver'

A WOMAN suffered injuries to her face after allegedly being attacked by a male passenger as she drove a car.

The 18-year-old victim was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa in Mid Road in Prestonpans, East Lothian, between 11am and 11.45am on Tuesday when the incident occurred.

She suffered facial injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

Her alleged attacker, who is 26, has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident, and was due to appear at Haddington Sheriff Court yesterday.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or the car to come forward.
