Car 'deliberately hit' men on pavement

POLICE have launched an attempted murder investigation after a car mounted a pavement in Glasgow city centre and struck two men.

The incident happened at 4:14pm yesterday as the two victims, aged 21 and 22, were walking along Duke Street, near the Bristol Bar.

A small black car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa or Renault Clio, mounted the pavement and appeared to deliberately drive at them.

The car then returned to the road and drove off towards the Haghill and Riddrie areas.

Both men were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where the 22-year-old man was treated for serious injuries to his head and back, and the 21-year-old was treated for minor injuries.
